Angry Birds and nets and ropes in the rain
14 children joined us on a very rainy afternoon at Beacon Field on Tuesday 3rd July. There was a warming game of football going on with 4 or 5 of the boys and 2 of the girls began to cut out some fabric to make their own Angry birds until the rain got too heavy to keep going.
We also attached a big blue net to the monkey bars in the park and all the children enjoyed climbing into it and swinging it like a hammock. There was also some den building with nets and ropes over fixed equipment that Lily had turned into a shelter area. Some of the boys decided it was similar to an army training course and began crawling underneath the nets like soldiers.
3 children helped light the Kelly Kettle so we could heat some water to have hot apple and blackcurrant squash. It recieved a mixed reaction but the majority liked it and everyone agreed that a hot drink was needed to warm ourselves up when we were playing out in the rain.
Next time we will be taking more ropes and nets and hot refreshments. Come along and join in next tuesday at 3:30 - 6pm
